How do I enrol?
To enroll, visit the website, select the Book/Enquire button, and complete the form. Remember to tick the indemnity and terms and conditions acknowledgement at the bottom of the page.
Do you offer trial lessons?
We offer trial lessons, typically 15-minute sessions at a reduced price, to assess each swimmer’s level and place them in the appropriate group or class.
How many children are in each class?
We offer both private one-on-one lessons and group lessons, with groups typically limited to no more than four students.
Do you offer stroke correction?
We teach the basic swimming strokes, but not at a competitive level.
Do you offer holiday programmes?
Yes, we occasionally offer school holiday programmes when student numbers are lower due to vacations. These are typically held in the mornings.
Can parents watch the lessons?
Yes, parents may watch lessons from the comfortable seating area next to the pool. Parents are asked to remain in the viewing area and keep any accompanying siblings away from the pool area.
Are goggles compulsory?
Goggles are optional but recommended.
Is your pool heated?
Yes, the pool is heated and usually maintained at 32°C.
What happens if the instructor is absent?
If an instructor is absent, lessons are typically made up later in the month at a time convenient for both the parents and the school. We aim to schedule catch-up lessons within the same calendar month.
Is there a registration fee?
Yes, a registration fee is payable on 1 September each year. The amount is published on our website under the Fees section.
What is your bad weather policy?
Although the pool is indoors and covered, we actively monitor weather conditions using multiple weather apps. If lightning moves close to the school, the coach on duty may cancel the lesson at their discretion. If a lesson has already started and is cancelled due to lightning, it is not refundable.
What happens if we miss a lesson?
Our terms state that missed lessons without prior notice are forfeited and remain payable. Lessons may be rescheduled if at least 24 hours’ notice is given. For medical reasons, we typically request a doctor’s certificate. This policy applies because a coach is scheduled and allocated to each lesson.
What should my child bring to a lesson?
Please bring: * A swimming costume * A towel * For babies: a swim nappy * Goggles are optional but recommended for older learn-to-swim students. **Important for Toddlers** For toddlers who are not yet fully potty trained, it is essential that they wear a **waterproof swim nappy** during their lesson. Please remove and dispose of the used swim nappy discreetly before leaving the swimming school.
What is your make-up lesson and cancellation policy?
Cancellations or requests to reschedule must be submitted at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson. Make-up lessons may only be arranged for illness and must be completed within the same calendar month, with a doctor's note. Lessons missed without prior notice are considered delivered and are neither refundable nor transferable.
What are your class sizes?
Group classes are kept small so every child gets individual attention. Exact capacity varies by class — ask us for the current group size for your preferred time slot.
How are fees invoiced?
Invoices are raised in advance for the month and reflect the number of lessons based on the occurrences of your lesson day in that month. An annual subscription fee of R300 applies per student, billed on 1 September each year.
What if my child has autism?
We have previously had success working with autistic children. It requires patience and dedication, but we usually see significant progress in both swimming ability and temperament.
Do you operate year-round?
Yes — all lessons are held in a comfortable, temperature-controlled heated pool, so there are no cold-season breaks. The school operates year-round, excluding public holidays, Easter weekend, and the December/January holiday period.
Do you teach competitive swimming?
No, we typically do not teach competitive swimming. Once a student is a fully competent swimmer, we usually recommend a school with a larger pool where they can train for competitive swimming.
What age can my child start?
We welcome babies from 6 months through to 10-year-olds, plus adult lessons and Home Help Confidence classes for caregivers.
